Forecast: Storms over the weekend

A couple of storms are still possible Friday evening in Southwest Florida. Most of the activity will die down shortly after it gets dark.

As the clouds slowly clear out, it will continue to be a muggy night. Lows will fall into the upper 70s by Saturday morning.

The day starts out pleasantly sunny and warm. Rain chances will start to increase as it heats up. Downpours and rumbles of thunder will pop up along the coast late in the morning and in the early afternoon before moving towards central-south Florida.

Once again, we continue to be in a pattern where evening storms try to push back west. Keep an umbrella handy for your Saturday evening plans.

While both days will feature sunshine, the better day of the weekend will be on Sunday. Storms will be concentrated a little further inland with a 40% chance of rain. Highs are in the lower-mid 90s.

Tracking the Tropics:

Good news to report— the tropics are quiet! The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is not tracking any areas for potential development during the next 7 days. ABC7 will keep you updated on any disturbances that do have a chance of developing in the Atlantic basin.
