As our weekend comes to an end, it will remain mostly cloudy and muggy. Overnight, temperatures won’t drop too much. Lows are forecast to be in the lower 70s early Monday morning.
We are entering a more unsettled weather period this week with higher chances of rain.
Monday will be partly to mostly cloudy and warm. While not everyone will see rain, spotty showers will start around lunchtime and will continue moving southwest through dusk. Highs will be in the mid-upper 80s.
Our next best rain chance comes midweek when a low-pressure system will move to the north of us through the northern Gulf. This will give us rounds of rain through Thursday. On the bright side, we desperately need it!
Tracking the Tropics
An area of low pressure is forecast to form in the southwestern Caribbean Sea in the next few days. A tropical depression could form later in the week as it drifts northeastward in the Caribbean. It’s something the National Hurricane Center will be watching, but at this time, it is no threat to SWFL.
