Arnold Schwarzenegger has been Mr. Universe, the Terminator and the governor of California. And as of last week, he has a new, albeit minor role: Agent State Farm.
In a Super Bowl commercial teaser released last week, California’s 38th governor appears to play a heroic State Farm insurance agent who, in a good-neighborly manner, shows up in a moment of crisis to save the day.
In the past, Schwarzenegger’s characters have used their brawn to get things their way. But as Agent State farm, he’ll likely have to use paperwork.

The ad begins on a dark screen. Violins swell and police sirens faintly blare. “We lost everything,” a faceless voiceover says, in a riff on the overblown drama of Marvel teasers.
Schwarzenegger’s performance in the teaser is brief. Wearing a red State Farm polo shirt (which, admittedly, looks a bit dorky) he mean-mugs the camera for about five seconds. Behind him stands a flaming building.

For a 2022 BMW commercial, Schwarzenegger and Salma Hayek dressed up in white robes and bronze breastplates to play mythical power couple Zeus and Hera, who struggle to adjust to retirement in Palm Springs.
