Foster embodies the concept of ‘integrity,’ deserves 7th term

As a Naperville School District 203 language arts teacher for 27 years, I often had the opportunity to help my students understand the meaning of the concept of integrity: You are who you say you are, through and through, undivided, honest.

I look for this quality in the people for whom I vote. I am very disappointed in the integrity of Qasim Rashid. He claims to be a candidate without corporate donations and yet his employment history is embedded with large corporations. He served as associate director of admissions at the online Kaplan University, which has been subject to multiple state and federal investigations. He was employed, as well, as a litigation attorney for Capital One, one of the nation’s largest banks, which was also subject to over 7,000 consumer abuse lawsuits.

On the other hand, what you expect of his opponent, U.S. Rep. Bill Foster, running for his 7th term representing District 11, is exactly what you get: The only PhD physicist in Congress who has provided exceptional services to his constituents; voted to support the Affordable Care Act and strengthened it with subsequent legislation; brought federal resources to every part of his district, including $900,000 for infrastructure improvements to the Naperville Riverwalk.

His recent successful collaboration with the White House, the local United Auto Workers union and Gov. J.B. Pritzker to reopen the Stellantis Belvidere assembly plant was nothing short of lifesaving for that community. He is also the only candidate in this race endorsed by the Planned Parenthood Action Fund. Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade, that matters!

Please vote for Bill Foster for the 11th District Congressional seat.

Brand and Mary Ann Bobosky lauded for tireless work to city

Naperville owes a debt of thanks to Brand Bobosky and his wife, Mary Ann Bobosky. They both have worked tirelessly for Naperville — Brand with his dedication to Century Walk and the resulting beautiful artwork throughout Naperville and Mary Ann through her career with Naperville School District 203.

Mary Ann was instrumental in the creation of the Naperville Education Foundation. She organized business partnerships between businesses and each of the 21 schools in District 203. I was fortunate to witness Mary Ann’s many accomplishments on behalf of District 203 while serving on its school board from 1981 to 1993. My wife, Judy, worked with Mary Ann on various drug prevention programs.

Thank you, Brand and Mary Ann.
