Fox News recorded its second-highest-rated third quarter in its history, besting rivals ABC and CBS to dominate a whopping 91 consecutive quarters on top in primetime.

According to ratings agency Nielsen, Fox News amassed 52% of total day viewers and 53% of the primetime audience in the third quarter — its highest share since early 2023.

The most-watched cable news network saw its audience soar by 43% in total day viewers and 93% in the advertiser-coveted 25-54 demographic during primetime.

Fox’s strong ratings were fueled by coverage of the presidential race, including a simulcast of the presidential debate last month between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump, which drew 14.2 million viewers for the network.

ABC News, which hosted the debate reeled in 19 million viewers, while NBC drew 10.1 million and CBS amassed in 6.2 million.

Fox News led coverage of breaking news in July following the first assassination attempt of Trump, as well as President Joe Biden’s historic decision to drop out of the 2024 race that same month.

Nielsen data revealed that Fox’s weekday 5 p.m. roundtable “The Five” continued to beat out the competition, earning the title of the top non-primetime cable news show for 12 consecutive quarters, reeling in 3.5 million viewers.

Fox’s “Hannity” hosted by Sean Hannity retained its position as the most-watch show in the 25-54 demo with 457,000 viewers, while “Gutfield!” was crowned top late night talk show with 2.8 million viewers.
