LEE COUNTY, Fla. — Your small donations made at the grocery store register really add up, and they’re helping local kids get crucial care.
On Wednesday, Winn-Dixie presented a $20,847 check to Golisano Children’s Hospital.
It will support the hospital’s pediatric specialty programs, family-centered support, therapeutic activities, research, child advocacy and other vital programs.
Winn Dixie said the money comes from customers and associates who donated $1, $5, or rounded up their grocery bill while shopping at local stores in April.
Golisano is the only Children’s Hospital between Tampa and Miami, allowing kids and families to get vital and life-saving care without having to travel.
