FORT MYERS, Fla. — Twenty-two campers left Golisano Children’s Hospital Thursday morning to get a break from their diagnosis or treatment and have a week to themselves.

Golisano patients have been going to Camp Boggy Creek, near Orlando, for more than 15 years. This is the first time since pre-pandemic! This is also the first time siblings have been able to go with them.

The camp is for kids ages 7 to 16 years old who have been diagnosed with a serious illness. Camp Boggy Creek allows them to enjoy a camp experience in a safe, medically sound environment.

The bus was paid for by Barbara’s Friends, and lunches were provided by Sunshine Kids.
