For Halle Berry, James Bond is Pierce Brosnan. Forever.

“He will always be my Bond, always. I’m a Pierce Brosnan fan,” Berry, Brosnan’s costar in the 2002 Bond movie Die Another Day, told Wired on Thursday. “He restored my faith in men on that movie. There couldn’t be a human who is more of a gentleman than Pierce Brosnan.”

The Oscar winner was answering some of the searched questions on the internet about her when she made the comments. Her work in the British spy franchise came up because people apparently often wonder if she was in a Bond film.

‘Die Another Day’ stars Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry.

Die Another Day featured Berry as Jinx Johnson, an NSA operative who teamed up with 007 both personally and professionally. The film was Brosnan’s final spin in the role, following his turns in GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, and The World Is Not Enough.

Berry’s work with Brosnan followed Monster’s Ball, in which she costarred with Billy Bob Thornton and for which she was later awarded the Oscar. She hadn’t expected a role like Jinx.

“Bond wasn’t on my wishlist, no, to be in one,” Berry said, “but I loved the movies always. But having been in one, I feel like I’m a part of cinematic history. Those movies are iconic. They will forever be a part of our history, and I’m really honored to have been a part of one, especially with Pierce.”

In the two years following her Bond outing, Berry starred in high-profile roles, including Storm in X2: X-Men United and the title role in Catwoman. The latter was panned, and, 20 years after its release, maintains a paltry 8 percent score, based on 197 reviews, on Rotten Tomatoes.

Still, she doesn’t appear to regret it.

“I loved it,” Berry told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show this week. “It got panned. The critics said it sucked balls. And balls aren’t that bad.”
