HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. — Last Sunday, while the Estrella was moving into a new home, they put Solo, their year-and-a-half-old albino cockatiel, in his outdoor cage. When they went to take Solo back inside, their world shattered to see that he was gone. Now, someone else found the bird and won’t give it back.
“Solo is one of my kids, I would say, my baby,” cried Marisol Estrella.
The owner said they are heartbroken he is missing.
“Just want to cry. We can’t believe that he’s gone. We hug together, we start crying,” sighed Marisol.
Hope entered their hearts after a Facebook post showed that someone found Solo at a Publix parking lot in Cape Coral.
But when the family reached out to the woman who had the bird, she wouldn’t let them see it.
Kiara Estrella decided to go to the Cape Coral Police Department for help.
“I don’t think it’s impossible for us to get him back. We still have faith,” said Kiara.
