The nonprofit organization Home Start, which is dedicated to child abuse prevention and providing family strengthening services, celebrated its annual Blue Ribbon Gala recently at the US Grant Hotel in downtown San Diego.
The event raised nearly $150,000 for funding programs and assistance services. Funds raised will go toward helping children, families, and individuals affected by tragedies including homelessness, domestic violence, hunger, abuse, and neglect.
Guests were transported to the Big Easy for a New Orleans jazz-themed evening. The event featured a champagne reception, live music from Full Strength, a high school jazz band, auction packages, and delicious food.
Also at the event, the Jewish Community Foundation San Diego received an award from Home Start for 2023 Outstanding Communing Funding Partner.
