Horizon Prep graduate Cordano Russell (Class of 2023) competed July 29 in skateboarding at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Cordano, representing Canada, placed 7th in the Men’s Street Final with a total score of 211.80. Surrounded by his family, friends, and teammates, Cordano struggled during the run portion of the event but was able to finish strong, scoring big on his two tricks, according to a news release.
Russell, 19, was born in Ontario, Canada, and at the age of four moved to St. Louis, Miss. At the age of eight, the Russell family moved to the San Diego area where his love of skateboarding flourished. In 2023, at the World Skateboarding Championship in Tokyo, Japan, Cordano finished 4th in the men’s street skateboarding event.
Cordano has already set his sights on the 2028 Los Angles Olympics. –Horizon Prep news release
