LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating after an infant was found dead on a bus stop near Los Angeles International Airport.
Police responded to Sepulveda Blvd. and West Century Blvd. around 10 a.m. Friday. They believe the 1-year-old female may have suffered a medical emergency. No foul play is suspected.
The location is outside of LAX, near the entrance of the airport.

According to reports from KFI, the infant’s mother and sister were experiencing homelessness. The sister was placed in the custody of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services and the mother was interviewed by detectives, according to KFI. The older child’s age and gender is not known.
The case is being investigated by LAPD’s abused child unit, which works cases under the juvenile division.
Police and firefighters blocked off lanes of traffic to both pedestrians and cars at Century Blvd.
