Investigation underway after fire breaks out in San Carlos Park home

SAN CARLOS PARK, Fla. — Authorities are currently working to determine the cause of a house fire in San Carlos Park that broke out Sunday afternoon.

At around 3:51 p.m., San Carlos Park Fire District (SCPFD) responded to the 17000 block of Brentwood Circle after a neighbor called for a residential structure fire.

Crews arrived on the scene to see smoke and flames showing from the roof.

There was one occupant of the home, but they had evacuated. No injuries were reported.

Estero Fire Rescue, Lee County EMS, and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office were also on the scene.

The fire was put out and contained to the attic and roof above the garage. However, SCPFD said there is smoke damage throughout the home.

Crews are still on the scene conducting salvage and overhaul.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
