It’s no secret that it’s been a hot month for Southwest Florida. In fact, it will most likely become the hottest month EVER since records began in 1902. 

The average temperature, taken from the daily high and low, averages to 86.1 degrees through July 30th. With one day left in the month, it is still expected to be higher than the current hottest month on record— June 1981 (85.9 degrees).

 In the current standings, the second hottest month for Fort Myers is actually the following month, July 1981 with just 0.02 degrees behind.

July 2023 is also on track to be the hottest month on record globally.
