She’s just being honest.
While visiting the Chelsea Flower Show in London on Monday, Kate Middleton was asked a question about royal life while spending time with a group of school children — and had quite the candid response.
“What is it like to be a princess?” one of the kids asked her in a video that was obtained by the Daily Mail.
“You have to work hard,” she replied. “But you know the best thing about it is meeting kiddies like you.”
During the trip, she also met with former servicemen and servicewomen who belong to the Chelsea Pensioners veterans group.
However, this isn’t the first time in recent weeks that Middleton has given a glimpse into her life as a royal.
Last week, she made a visit to a school in Bristol for Mental Health Awareness Week, meeting with those who had received mentoring from athletes from the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust, per People.
While she was there, one student asked her about what it was like to be a part of the royal family.
Middleton reportedly replied that she had to learn and was still learning every day.
Middleton officially joined the royal family on April 29, 2011, when she married Prince William in a ceremony at Westminster Abbey.
The two had been dating since college, when they both attended St. Andrew’s University in Scotland. However, they took a brief break in 2007, but later got back together that year.
The royal pair recently celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary, marking the occasion with a sweet pic of them bike riding together, posted to their joint Instagram account.
They have three children: Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.
Earlier this month, the entire family played a role in the coronation ceremony of Prince William’s father, King Charles, at Westminster Abbey.
The ceremony marked the official transfer of power to the 74-year-old monarch after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022.
During the ceremony, Prince William knelt in front of his father in a centuries-old tradition and swore his loyalty as the current heir to the throne.
William’s son George also played a part in the ceremony as a “Page of Honour” to his grandpa King Charles.
His job was to make sure that King Charles didn’t trip over the long robe as the monarch walked down the aisle at Westminster Cathedral.
The young prince also carried a small sword to protect his grandpa.
However, according to a new report, the king doesn’t want his grandchildren to make the same mistakes “he feels” that he has made over the years.
“What I think he wants to do is try and help these young grandchildren grow up in as normal a way as possible and create more fully rounded human beings who are unafraid of their emotions and who are able to have the confidence to marry whom they want,” said University of St. Andrews professor Chandrika Kaul, who was recently interviewed for the Channel 5 documentary “The Fab Five: The King’s Grandchildren, according to the Mirror.
Last week, King Charles and his wife, Queen Camilla, stepped out together for their first joint public outing since the event.
The pair visited Covent Garden to celebrate the 390th anniversary of St Paul’s Church, also known as the Actors’ Church.
While there, Charles and Camilla also met with members of the community.
