Katie Holmes is constantly proving that chic dressing doesn’t have to be complicated.

The Dawson’s Creek alum stepped out in New York City this Wednesday in an easy look that involved three of the season’s It accessories.

The base of the outfit was a boxy white tee and straight-leg blue jeans with pockets in the front and back and a vintage finish. For shoes, she opted for the viral Adidas Samba sneakers in black, and further accessorized with a Prada Galleria Saffiano Special Edition bag in hot pink, orange, and maroon. She also wore chunky gray Prada Symbole sunglasses and a silver nose ring.

Holmes regularly shows off her no-frills street style and edited wardrobe. At the 2023 Cannes Film Festival last month, the Rare Objects director looked so elegant in a sand-colored suit by Kallmeyer. She wore the hourglass linen blazer unbuttoned and layered over a plain white T-shirt. The matching pair of khaki wide-leg trousers featured crisp pleats and a fabric belt. For footwear, she opted for edgy black-and-white snakeskin boots with a narrow square toe.

Holmes spoke to Bazaar.com last year about her approach to dressing. “We live in a world where we have a premiere and you want to look nice, and it turns into being a fashion person, and I’m like, ‘Well, I just like to look nice, I’m not really a fashion person.’ We all just want to look good,” she said, adding that when she’s off duty, she keeps it very casual. “I love my T-shirts, and I love my vintage T-shirts. They’re so yummy. They’re a little dirty, a little stained or whatever, and that’s me.”
