Katie Holmes showed off her off-duty style this week as she stepped out in New York City.

The 45-year-old actress — who was spotted in another fashionable outfit recently — pulled off a unique look as she modeled a neutral, color-blocked windbreaker jacket.

The Dawson’s Creek alum layered the outerwear, which had panels of olive green and muted orange, over a light-colored T-shirt. She added gray jogger sweatpants, socks with purple and magenta stripes, and cream and white sneakers with a subtle platform.

Perhaps the most expensive part of Holmes’ getup was the $2,400 brown Khaite ‘Amelia Envelope Pleat Medium Tote Bag’ she carried on her forearm.

This sighting comes over two weeks before Katie will welcome her daughter Suri Cruise home from Carnegie Mellon University in Pennsylvania for Thanksgiving break. The break begins on November 27.

Katie’s long brunette hair appeared slightly damp and was parted down the center as she took a phone call.

The star, who shares 18-year-old daughter Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise, wore aviator sunglasses with tortoiseshell frames.

She wor stud earrings as she made animated expressions while chatting on her cellular device.

Katie has been adapting to life as an empty nester after Suri began her freshman year at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA in August.

‘I’m proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy,’ Holmes told Town & Country over the summer.

‘I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that,’ the mother-of-one added.

Cruise pays Suri’s $65K/year tuition as well as medical, dental, and insurance expenses despite their estranged relationship.

Amid their strained connection, Suri opted not to use her dad’s last name on the casting sheet of her senior year high school play The Addams Family: A New Musical, according to a report from Yahoo.
