The singer posted a video of her undressing and wading into a stream while singing, “Everything’s changed now”
Kesha is waiting for you, and you better hurry up because it’s cold outside, and for some reason, she has taken off all her clothes. Did she even bring a towel? Either way, the video she posted to social media, in which she disrobes and wades into a surely subarctic-feeling stream, features her singing the words, “I’ve been waiting for you, everything’s changed now.” The music is gauzy and dreamlike.
The link, KeshaIsWaitingForYou.com, redirects to another image of her nude in the dark (but the lighting suggests a fire might be warming her) with the option to sign up and hear about new music and probably receive more photos you wouldn’t want to look at on an evening subway ride.
The singer has been teasing new music since January when photos circulated of her standing in a parking lot with a cardboard sign that bore the legend, “New music coming soon!” Any new songs would be the singer’s first since the end of her contract with producer Dr. Luke, whom she accused of drugging and raping her in 2014. She filed a lawsuit against him at the time; both she and Luke settled the suit this past summer.
“Only God knows what happened that night,” she wrote in a statement when the settlement was announced. “As I always said, I cannot recount everything that happened. I am looking forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and beginning a new one. I wish nothing but peace to all parties involved.”
She explained the title of her most recent album, last year’s Gag Order, in a Rolling Stone interview. “I feel as if there has been an implied gag order for a very long time now,” she said.
