Chief Executive, Chair, Tutor Perini Corp.

Tutor has served as chair of the Sylmar-based civil construction company since 1999 and as chief executive since 2000. Late last year, Tutor announced he plans to retire at the end of this year. In the meantime, he continues to try to steer the construction firm out of rough shoals. Revenue fell during the pandemic years as the company either lost out on contracts or saw multibillion-dollar contracts delayed. But last year, the project backlog resumed growth. Locally, the company has made significant progress on its signature project, the second and third phases (totaling around $3 billion) of the Metro D (Purple) Line subway extension through Beverly Hills, Century City and Westwood.
