LEE COUNTY, Fla. — The Lee County teachers’ union approved a new contract at a board meeting Tuesday night that will increase teacher pay.
Starting teachers will now get paid $50,000 a year while others will get raises based on their level of experience. Instructors with at least 20 years of experience will get a pay bump of 11.5 percent.
The Teacher’s Association of Lee County has been meeting with the Lee County School District since last school year. In total, they’ve met 11 times to negotiate this new contract.
