FORT MYERS, Fla. — Two local girls are instilling a love of reading at a preschool in Fort Myers.

Riley Kerver and Leila Tucker are pioneers in St Francis Xavier’s American Heritage Girls program. They’ve been reading to preschoolers at P.A. Geraci Child Development Center every month since October.

The girls say it’s one of their favorite acts of community service to earn stars for their sashes.

“It’s fun when the kids get to know what type of books they like and what their favorites are,” Tucker said.

P.A. Geraci serves children ages six weeks old to eight years old.
