The perfect date-night restaurant has to have high marks in a few areas: the food, the vibes, the drinks and the price. Because, let’s be real, no one wants to spend nearly $200 on a casual night out with their partner.

There are only a few places in Denver that meet all my expectations every time. At the top of that list is Logan Street Restaurant & Bar.

The menu at Logan Street has a good range of options that keep even us regulars happy. Want to be impressed with the classics? Check out the Carboy Onion Soup ($9) or the Logan Street Caesar ($9). If you’re there during happy hour, 3-6 p.m., try the Lamb Bolognese Fettucini ($12), the Meatballs ($8) or the Bison Carpaccio ($9). And if you’re going for full date-night entrees, I recommend the Pan-Seared Sea Bass ($23), the Braised Lamb Cannelloni ($20), the Pork Osso Buco ($22) or the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich ($17).

And on Tuesdays, Logan Street offers a three-course, chef-driven menu, plus a glass of Carboy red, white or a mocktail, for $33.

Now, let’s talk about the vibes. Logan Street takes reservations, so you can impress your date by being prepared and skipping the wait no matter how early or late you’re hitting the town. Located in the heart of Capitol Hill, it’s right next to Carboy Winery, which provides a great patio atmosphere during nice weather. Plus, the inside has bar seating and good music that creates a fun, lively-but-not-too-loud atmosphere.

And now to the star of the show: the drinks. As a wine club member at Carboy, my partner and I usually start the evening there before heading over to Logan Street for dinner. So if I want to stick with wine, I can order Carboy’s wine at the restaurant, too.

While the restaurant does have house cocktails, I often go off the menu to order the best espresso martini in town ($13). I’m no martini expert, but to me it’s the perfect pick-me-up that will keep you awake for any after-dinner plans.

A Good Thyme ($13), the Old Fashioned ($13), the Aviation ($13) and the Pickle Martini ($13) are all delicious, too. You really can’t go wrong at this bar.
