Road closures are in place along a section of Dewdney Trunk after a serious crash in Maple Ridge sent five people to the hospital Wednesday, one with serious injuries.
In a statement to CityNews, BC Emergency Health Services says six ambulances and a paramedic supervisor were dispatched to the area between 203 and 206 streets just after 12:30 p.m.
“Paramedics cared for five patients and transported them to hospital,” BCEHS paramedic public information officer Jasprit Khandal said.
The Ridge Meadows RCMP says four of the people were taken to the hospital for “precautionary measures,” while one person was seriously injured.
According to the Ridge Meadows RCMP, all eastbound lanes of Dewdney Trunk Road are closed between 203 and 206 streets, while westbound is partially open.
“Expect significant delays while we investigate,” the RCMP said in a post on X just before 2 p.m.
