Deputies responded to the home on Chelsea Court and Jennifer was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Jennifer taught 4th grade at Sallie Jones Elementary. The school issued a letter to the parents of students:

“Our Sallie Jones Tiger family needs to share some tough news with all of you this evening. It is with heartfelt sadness that we let you know that Mrs. Crumine, one of our fourth-grade teachers, has passed away. Mrs. Crumine’s positive spirit, contagious kindness, and dedication to her students will be tremendously missed. If your child is in fourth grade, we ask that you share this information with them before they return to school so they have time to process this sad news. We will have a team available to support where needed when students and staff return on January 8th. We extend our love to all of you, your students), and to Mrs. Crumine’s family.”
