LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — It was a family night at church for the Allens of Lehigh Acres.

“We were going just up the road when all that changed,” said Cortni Allen.

Cortni was following her husband Sean who had chosen to ride his Harley Davidson to church.

“It was common. Sean wants to ride his motorcycle and me and the kids follow. I always leave him a few car lengths of space,” Cortni said.

When Sean crossed the intersection of East 10th Street and Joel Boulevard, his motorcycle struck the passenger side of a white Toyota SUV.

“I didn’t even see brake lights. I don’t think Sean knew he was going to turn, I don’t think the man driving the SUV saw Sean,” Cortni said.

Sean lay in the middle of the road after impact with Cortni holding him.

“I was screaming. Screaming for anyone to help,” she said.

That’s where Autumn Johnson comes in. She was in traffic as a result of the deadly crash.

“I heard screaming and honestly my boyfriend was in front of me on our way home so I thought maybe it was he that was in the accident so I’m running,” Johnson said.

Once Johnson got an understanding of what was going on, she made the decision to help.

“I couldn’t leave them. I sat down in the road and held her hand and his hand and I prayed,” she said.

Today, Johnson and Cortni are meeting again at the site of the crash. Not as strangers, but as friends.

“She’s a hero in my book. For someone to come and hold my hand and pray over my husband means more than she will ever know,” Cortni said.

Sean is currently in a coma and doctors haven’t made it clear to Cortni yet if he will wake up.

“Hopefully he will wake up. I know he will wake up,” Cortni said.

Sean had surgery on his neck today, Cortni said it went well.
