Lizzy McAlpine’s new album “Older” tracks the feelings and questions that come with maturing, grieving, learning to trust and be trusted. McAlpine’s third album follows 2021’s “Five Seconds Flat” and its viral hit “Ceilings,” her first entry into the Billboard Hot 100. Here, the folk-pop singer-songwriter evolves McAlpine’s visual, scene-driven songwriting that inspired hundreds of thousands of social media videos soundtracked by “Ceilings,” writes The Associated Press’ Elise Ryan.
