Remember the red envelope?

Netflix is giving subscribers one final chance to rent discs by mail before shutting down the service for good.

Earlier this week, the last, loyal customers of DVD.com — where Netflix has kept the rental business going, until now — received an email about the special and final offer.

Regardless of their subscription plans, die hards can opt to receive up to 10 extra rentals chosen from their queue, to be delivered in the classic red envelopes — for years a staple in millions of mailboxes across America.

“Let’s have some fun for our finale!” Netflix said in the marketing blast, according to Collider.

The company encouraged eligible customers to click on a link to activate the promotion, which has a “limited quantity” while supplies last.

The streamer got its start back in the late 1990’s as a virtual video store with just 925 titles. It would not begin creating original content until more than a decade later.

Customers participating in the promotion “won’t know if any extra envelopes are headed your way until they arrive in your mailbox!”

The final DVDs will be mailed out on Sept. 29. Returns will be accepted until Oct. 27, 2023.

Netflix announced in April they were closing down the physical rental service after 25 years.

The company mailed out more than 5 billion DVD and Blu-ray rentals to subscribers since getting its start in 1998, long before the world could access vast libraries of streaming content on a wide range of devices, including smartphones.

“Our goal has always been to provide the best service for our members, but as the DVD business continues to shrink, that’s going to become increasingly difficult,” the Netflix website reads.

Last year, Netflix attained nearly 231 million worldwide subscribers to its video streaming service. Meanwhile, the DVD service generated $145.7 million in revenue last year from between 1.1 million and 1.3 million subscribers.

“Those iconic red envelopes changed the way people watched shows and movies at home — and they paved the way for the shift to streaming.”

Revenue from the rental business declined as the company focused more on streaming and original content, the company said.
