Netflix removes booing from Kim Kardashian segment of Tom Brady roast

Viewers who watch the replay of Netflix’s The Roast of Tom Brady will see a slightly different show than those who watched the broadcast live.

The roast, which aired live on the streaming service on May 5 from the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, is now missing some notable footage from when Kim Kardashian first took the spotlight. Live viewers couldn’t miss the crowd’s boos after host Kevin Hart introduced her, but in the version currently available on Netflix, Kardashian is greeted exclusively by applause.

Reps for Netflix and Kardashian did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly’s request for comment.

“For a very special toast, right, this toast has to come from somebody worthy of a moment as such. A special friend, and a special lady: Kim Kardashian,” Hart says around 57 minutes into the broadcast.

As Kardashian makes her way to the stage, the audience’s only audible reaction is applause, as it was in the original broadcast “Thank you so much, Kevin,” Kardashian says in the edited version. “I know a lot of people make fun of your height, but what people don’t know is you’re also pretty mean, which makes you the smallest Black dick I’ve ever seen.”

However, in the live broadcast, Kardashian made an earlier attempt to deliver that first joke, which was interrupted by significant booing from the crowd following the initial applause. After saying, “I know a lot of people make fun of your height,” Kardashian looked away from the teleprompter with irritation.

“Alright, alright,” she said, as Hart chimed in, “Woah, woah, woah, woah, woah.” On Netflix, the roast includes a message that says, “Edited from a previous livestream.”  (Page Six has the unedited footage on its YouTube page.)

Kardashian went on to joke about her own infamous past. “Speaking of Tom and I dating, I know there were some rumors that we were, and I’d never say if we did or not,” she said. “I’d just release the tape.”

Later in her segment, Kardashian joked about her mother’s ex-spouse, Caitllyn Jenner. “ I do know it would never work out. An ex-athlete, high cheekbones, silky hair — you remind me too much of my stepdad now,” she said. “Part of me thinks you would want to undress me just to try on my clothes. I know the transition from the NFL must have been really hard, but I think my stepdad is a great example for your. She’s one of the best athletes in the world who proved you can do anything in this next chapter of your life. You can become a commentator, a far-right Republican, or even a strong, confident woman.”

One of Kardashian’s final jokes took a shot at her late father, Robert Kardashian, for his involvement in defending O.J. Simpson during his murder trial. “It’s hard for me to watch people roast you, but I think enough of my family members have helped defend former football players,” she said.

The edited version of The Roast of Tom Brady is now streaming on Netflix.
