New annual ‘Bark in the Park’ event to benefit Gulf Coast Humane Society

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The first ‘Bark in the Park’ event is coming to Southwest Florida on Saturday, featuring a one-mile walk along Buckingham Community Park’s pet-friendly path with vendor booths, food trucks, and more to benefit the Gulf Coast Humane Society.

The Gulf Coast Humane Society, a local nonprofit organization, is hosting a brand new pet-friendly event, ‘Bark in the Park’ on Saturday, Dec. 9, at Buckingham Community Park (9800 Buckingham Rd).

Attendees are encouraged to bring their furry companions and join the Gulf Coast Humane Society in supporting its cause.

Bark in the Park will kick off at 10:00 a.m. with a one-mile walk along the park’s four-legged friend-approved trail.

A collection of vendors will be available at the event, offering a variety of services from dog toys and treats to photo opportunities, including the following:

  • Hooties Candles & Things
  • Doodle Be Dapper
  • Lady in Pink Photography
  • Say it in the Yard
  • Scoop Soldiers
  • Beesley’s Paw Prints
  • Cattyshack Cafè

Additionally, food enthusiasts will be able to choose from a selection of food truck vendors:

  • Wiggle Bar
  • Ice Flamingo
  • Dawg Pound

For those interested, they will also be conducting K9 training on-site.

‘Bark in the Park’ Need-to-Knows

All dogs must be on a non-retractable leash and have up-to-date vaccines.

To attend the event, all participants, humane, canine, and feline, must register prior to arrival.

People may register as an individual, by joining a team or by creating a team.

TICKET PRICES:

  • Adult – $25.00
  • Youth (2 years old – 18 years old) – $15.00
  • Youth (under 2 years old) – Free
  • Dog – $15.00
  • Alumni VIP Experience ( for those who adopted pets from the Gulf Coast Humane Society) – $10.00

The Gulf Coast Humane Society will use all proceeds from the event to fund essential programs, such as the Veterinary Clinic, Spade and Neuter Clinic, Online Pharmacy, Adoption Center, and Dog Obedience Workshops.

Each program is designed to help current and future pet owners take the best care of their animals.

The Gulf Coast Humane Society is a private non-profit 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization dedicated to providing humane care for surrendered animals to the Southwest Florida Community.
