Ring, owned by Amazon, announced a new Pet Tag accessory to locate lost pets on Wednesday.
The accessory places a QR code on your pet’s collar, which can be scanned to help reunite lost pets with their owners.
After scanning the QR code on your pet’s tag, you will be notified that your pet has been found.
Scanning the QR code will display your pet’s health conditions and other vital information to help someone understand their needs.
If your pet’s Pet Profile has the “Contact Me” feature enabled, the person who finds your pet can communicate with you to help return your pet.
It’s important to note that the Pet Tag does not have GPS capabilities, meaning it cannot be used to locate lost pets on its own.
The Pet Tag is a pet collar replacement that displays your contact information in case your pet gets lost.
Traditional pet collars may compromise your privacy by displaying personal information.
The Pet Tag not only shields your number and personal information but also allows you to provide extra details, such as your pet’s health conditions, which may not typically fit on a standard pet collar.
The Pet Tag is now available for pre-order at Ring.com and Amazon.com for $9.99. Shipping will begin on October 4th in the United States.
