0012 GMT — Japan’s Nikkei Stock Average rises 0.4% to 32979.27 in morning trade, tracking Wall Street’s gains overnight following the release of U.S. CPI data. The data were in line with expectations, and seemed to have fueled bets on a Fed pivot ahead of the FOMC decision due out later today, Tina Teng, markets analyst at CMC Markets, says in an email. Among the best performers on the benchmark index is Disco Corp., which rises 4.1%, Advantest, which adds 3.9%, and Recruit Holdings, which is up 3.2%. USD/JPY is at 145.37, compared with 145.40 as of Tuesday’s Tokyo stock-market close. ([email protected])
