Police in North Vancouver are asking people to avoid the area of an “unfolding” incident Tuesday morning.
The RCMP is in the area of Lytton Street near Bendale Road, just north of the Mt Seymour Parkway, though few other details are available.
People are also being asked to “not share pictures of police operations on social media.”
Callers to CityNews have reported seeing several RCMP cruisers in the area.
The North Vancouver School District says, at the direction of police, there will be delayed starts for three schools in the area — Blueridge Elementary, Seymour Heights Elementary, and Windsor Secondary — until 10:30 a.m.
The district is also asking people to follow police direction and to stay clear of the area.
“The RCMP have confirmed there is no immediate threat, but they do ask people to stay clear of the area (between Carnation and Mount Seymour Parkway at Lytton),” the district said on its website Tuesday.
