After being selected fourth overall by the Houston Rockets, the guard was interviewed by ESPN’s Monica McNutt.
“What’s the first thing that you might do to celebrate that you’re comfortable sharing?” she asked.
“Celebrate? I don’t know. We need to fly some In-N-Out out here,” he said with a chuckle as he looked toward his parents, who were sitting next to him.
“I need some In-N-Out. Just fly it out to New York for a day,” he said as McNutt and his parents laughed. (There is a Shake Shack across the street from Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, where the draft was held, but clearly that wouldn’t cut it for the Thompsons.)
There are four In-N-Outs in the Houston area, although Whataburger is the top dog among burger chains in Texas.
Thompson’s twin brother, Ausar, was selected immediately after him with the fifth overall pick by the Detroit Pistons. There was no immediate word on his burger preferences.
