Political writer Olivia Nuzzi has received a no-contact order against her ex-fiancé, fellow journalist Ryan Lizza, after accusing him of blackmailing her over her fling with Robert F. Kennedy Jr., according to bombshell court filings.
Nuzzi lodged the accusations of harassment against Lizza, who is one of Politico’s most prominent bylines, in a court filing in Washington, DC this week, CNN reported.
She alleged that Lizza “explicitly threatened to make public personal information about me to destroy my life, career, and reputation — a threat he has since carried out.”
Nuzzi’s career was derailed last month when she was placed on leave by “New York” magazine after she admitted to having a personal relationship after profiling him for the publication last November.
Nuzzi’s no-contact order, which a judge granted on Tuesday, which is a typical action in domestic disputes, CNN reported.
Lizza told The Post he is “saddened that my ex-fiancée would resort to making a series of false accusations against me as a way to divert attention from her own personal and professional failings.”
“I emphatically deny these allegations and I will defend myself against them vigorously and successfully,” Lizza said.
