Aurora’s ever-growing Paramount Theatre has been granted the rights this fall to what’s likely to be a hot-selling musical: Disney’s stage version of “Frozen,” famous for its singalong score, including the scourge of the minivan parent, “Let it Go.”

The anticipated power of that title has been enough for Paramount to create its longest-ever run of a musical this fall: from Oct. 30 through Jan. 19, 2025.

Also on the 2024-25 season slate in downtown Aurora: the first local production of Sara Bareilles’ “Waitress” (Feb. 12-March 30, 2025), as well as a revival this coming summer of “The Full Monty” (Aug. 21-Oct. 6) and of “Cats” next spring (April 30-June 15, 2025).

Paramount also says it will open three shows in its smaller Copley Theatre next season: “Peter and the Starcatcher (July 24-Sept. 1) “An Act of God” (Oct. 2-Nov. 10) and “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” (March 12-April 27, 2025).

Finally, Paramount plans to open a third theater space with a production of “Million Dollar Quartet” this summer. Known as the Stolp Island Theatre, this will be a 98-seat black box theater designed for “immersive theater experiences.” The Stolp Island Theatre is now under construction at 5 E. Downer Place in downtown Aurora.
