SOUTHWEST FLORIDA — As we head into summer, it’s the perfect time to teach our tweens and teens some of the most important life skills that they might not have time to focus on.

Kira Lewis, a parenting pro, joined us on More in the Morning to point out some skills that we should teach our children.

“Our kids, especially during the school year these days, are so scheduled and so busy between their school work and their activities, and sometimes those basic skills, we kind of get rushed through, or we just take care of for them because you can. But, in the summer, when things slow down just a little, it’s a great time to remember – like, it’s hard to believe that our kids, especially our teens, are going to be going off to college or into adulthood, so quickly – and it’s important that they’ve got some pretty basic skills so that they can be self-sufficient,” said Lewis.
