DOWNTOWN FORT MYERS, Fla. — Parking in Downtown Fort Myers will change Saturday following meters replacement.
With 32 new pay stations installed, there are new signage showing different time and parking rates.
The City of Fort Myers has updated most of the parking in downtown, with the exception of four areas. Parking fees will not be enforced on Sundays.
The areas in pink show free parking in downtown Fort Myers. Green and orange areas have different rates, which will increase at peak hours.
Visitors will be able to pay at the stations or by using their phones.
What to know about the new rates?
Hours of enforcement are now 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
Credit card payments have a fee of $0.25 per transaction, while pay-by-text has a $0.05 fee.
Parking spots for 15-30 minutes located at the core of downtown will remain available at no cost.
Regular parking lot prices will be the same as the parking garages at $1 per hour.
Zip Zones have been replaced by 2-hour paid parking ($1.50 per hour in-season; a third hour extension costs $3.)
