Many areas across the Lower Mainland were hit with heavy snow flurries late Sunday evening.
This despite there being no snowfall warnings or special weather advisories issued by Environment Canada for anywhere on the south coast.
Callers to CityNews 1130 reported snow in Richmond, New Westminster, Vancouver, South Surrey, and other areas.
Driving conditions on Highway 1 through the Burnaby Lake stretch were treacherous in the late evening, with traffic crawling to navigate the slippery roads. Visibility at times was extremely limited.
Drivers are advised to use extra caution while travelling through Metro Vancouver overnight Sunday into Monday morning.
