PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. — A Port Charlotte man was arrested after a girl in elementary school revealed he molested her.

Demario Fenton, 20, reportedly assaulted the victim multiple times while she was vacationing and visiting her mom in Charlotte County.

According to the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), the girl discussed the abuse after a sexual abuse education presentation at her school in New York.

CCSO detectives were then contacted by authorities in New York. Investigators interviewed Fenton on Nov. 15, and he confessed to the assaults, according to the CCSO report.

Fenton was charged with four counts of lewd/lascivious molestation on a victim less than 12 years old (offender 18 years of age or older) and use of a child in a sexual performance.

CCSO said Fenton is being held in the Charlotte County Jail without bond.
