Mounties in Richmond are asking the public for help finding a suspect in an assault that took place two months ago.
On March 5 around 4:30 p.m., the suspect allegedly assaulted an 88-year-old woman inside a business on Alderbridge Way near Garden City Road.
Police say the victim did not know the suspect, who allegedly came up to her and struck her in the head. It appears nobody witnessed the assault.
“The victim was struck hard enough that she fell onto the floor but fortunately, she did not sustain any physical injuries,” said Cpl. Adriana O’Malley, Richmond RCMP media relations officer.
“We believe there are people who will recognize this suspect and implore anyone who can identify her to call us.”
The suspect was wearing a blue t-shirt, dark blue shorts, and flip flops. She was wearing glasses and had brown hair tied in a pony tail.
The RCMP says the motive is unknown.
