LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. — A Liside Montano School Transportation van hit another car in Lehigh Acres. Now people are worried that the van driver could have hit a child.
“Makes me worry with my high schooler at his bus stop every morning going, ‘I could just take you to school, but you need that independence,’” said Kimberly Natoli, a mom in Lehigh Acres.
Natoli explained this isn’t the first time she’s had issues with the company.
“My complaints have gone on six years with this company,” said Natoli.
Our crews have covered issues with this company before, once in 2016 and once in 2017.
Alain Capucci posted a video to Facebook back in 2016. He said he remembers driving on Gateway Boulevard when he saw the van cutting off other cars and speeding.
Capucci said he had to hit the gas just to keep up with the van, claiming he saw the driver doing at least 50 mph in a 35 mph zone.
“There are a lot of video evidence out there of them going 80 mph in a 55 zone where other cars can’t even keep up,” Natoli added.
ABC7 is still working to figure out if anyone was injured in this most recent crash.
In the meantime, Natoli’s message to parents is to report this reckless driving when you see it.
“The better business bureau doesn’t know anything’s wrong, they can’t have any penalties there,” Natoli said.
ABC7 called the company for comment, but no one answered.
Now parents want the company to put speed trackers in the vans to keep an eye on how fast those drivers are going.
