CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Twenty-seven car break-ins were reported in one Cape Coral neighborhood over the weekend.
Burglars hit a normally sleepy part of northeast Cape Coral over the weekend.
Security video shows someone in a hoodie checking the doors of cars on Northeast 17th Avenue. A couple blocks away on Northeast 20th Street; another video caught two hooded people walking along the side of a home. Neighbors believe the two suspects stole a 2019 Nissan Rogue in Gun Metal Gray. It has the license plate CPSN74.
According to Cape Coral police reports, the suspects also got away with social security cards, credit cards, a steering wheel, and a gun.
As always, the best way to keep thieves out of your car is to keep your doors locked. Also, don’t leave any valuables inside.
Cape Coral police are urging people to check their security footage. If they see anything suspicious that could help in their investigation, report it.
