A suspect has been arrested after a series of stabbings in Oxford, North Carolina, Monday morning, according to the Granville County Sheriff’s Office.

Oxford police responded to three different locations Monday morning where three people had been stabbed, officials said. The three victims are in stable condition, according to police.

The sheriff’s office arrested Myliek Webb after a chase, according to Oxford Police Chief Patricia Ford.

The first call came from a local business in Oxford at 8:35 a.m. where one man was stabbed, Ford said.

Nine minutes later, police got another call from a McDonald’s at 115 Granville Corners in Oxford where the suspect stabbed another man, the chief said.

Ten minutes later, the third call came in, this time from a Walmart on Lewis Street in Oxford, where a third man was stabbed, she said. Webb worked at the Walmart, according to the police chief.

Deputies saw Webb’s car driving on Interstate 85 South. The suspect tried to run from deputies, doing a U-turn in an access point on the highway median and leading police on I-85 North, Ford said. But the car chase ended quickly, according to the sheriff’s office.

Walmart sent out a statement about the incident Monday afternoon.

“Violence like this can’t be tolerated, and we’re disgusted by what happened outside of our Oxford store. We’ll work closely with local law enforcement throughout their investigation. We don’t discuss personnel matters involving current or former associates. However, we can confirm that Myliek Webb has not worked for Walmart since April 2023,” the statement said.
