The Jamba Juice outpost at Stonestown Galleria is being sued for allegedly owing thousands of dollars in unpaid rent, according to recent court filings.
Stonestown Galleria filed an unlawful detainer lawsuit at the Superior Court of California for San Francisco County on Friday alleging that Jamba Juice is on the hook for $21,304.69. A spokesperson for Jamba Juice told SFGATE that the storefront at 3251 20th Ave. is independently owned and operated and added that “Jamba does not comment on pending litigation.”
According to court filings, Stonestown Galleria notified Jamba Juice that it failed to make its rent beginning in May 2023. On July 12, Jamba Juice was served a 10-day notice to “pay rent or quit,” at which point it purportedly owed $41,304.69. The lawsuit said that Jamba Juice made a payment of $20,000 since receiving the “pay rent or quit” notice but still owed $21,304.69.
Stonestown Galleria is asking that Jamba Juice pay the remaining $21,304.69 it owes in rent, plus $346 for each day it has remained on-site after July 26, when the “pay rent or quit” expired.
In 2016, Jamba Juice signed a 10-year lease to debut on the ground floor of Stonestown Galleria. To date, the store remains open. SFGATE reached out to Stonestown Galleria for comment but did not hear back by publication.
