Solana Center has designed the first SB 1383 inspector training course, focused on food recovery, according to a news release. Award-winning nonprofit Solana Center for Environmental Innovation will teach the online training, Food Recovery Inspection Training: California SB 1383 Compliance, from Wednesday, Nov. 6 through Friday, Nov. 8.

Registration is required to attend: https://solanacenter.org/inspire_events/food-recovery-inspection-training-2024/

Early bird pricing: Save $25 when registering by Oct. 15, using the discount code INSPECTOR.

This statewide training is the first of its kind in addressing the detailed food recovery requirements of California’s Short-Lived Climate Pollutant Reduction Act (SB 1383), the news release stated. The curriculum is informed by actual experiences and best practices, and taught by field practitioners. Experts will share their in-depth knowledge, valued by regional jurisdictions and CalRecycle. Building on hundreds of inspections of businesses and recovery agencies, Solana Center will present the most effective methods for achieving maximum food donation.
