The San Diego Automotive Museum’s “Party in the Park: Supercharged,” held on Sept. 28, raised over $825,000 in support of the Museum’s IGNITE Academy. The event honored Sharon and Skeets Dunn and was co-chaired by Reena Horowitz, Jill Berg, and Stephanie Brown, according to a news release.
Inspired by the sophistication and intrigue of James Bond, attendees enjoyed an unforgettable evening, featuring a three-course dinner by Ron McMillan’s Catering Solutions, signature martinis, a hosted bar, and live music by SULLVN.
One of the evening’s highlights was a live auction, where guests had the chance to bid on the featured auction item, an exclusive 007-themed expedition across the United Kingdom, curated by Boutique Travel Advisors. The trip, which included visits to famous James Bond filming locations and the Aston Martin Heritage Trust in Oxfordshire, offered an unforgettable experience for the highest bidder.
The “Party in the Park: Supercharged” has raised over $2 million to support the San Diego Automotive Museum’s IGNITE Academy since 2021. This innovative program combines career exploration, independent research, and skill-building through project-based hands-on learning to prepare students for internships and other pathways towards successful careers in the automotive industry. The IGNITE program is ideal for students in high school, who are not four-year bound, and provides mentorship, guidance, and early career exposure and experience, all at no cost to the students, the news release stated.
