A 16-year-old girl was pronounced dead, and another teenage girl was grazed by gunfire Monday night in the Englewood neighborhood, Chicago police said.
A group of teenagers were gathered in the 400 block of West 72nd Street shortly after 10 p.m. when someone opened fire. A girl, 16, was shot in the back, and taken to UChicago Medicine in critical condition where she was pronounced dead, police said.
A 15-year-old girl suffered a graze wound to the left arm. She was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital where she was listed in good condition.
No one was in custody and detectives were investigating.
