Monday

San Diego Theatre Month: Locals can celebrate theater and other performing arts throughout the month of March with $15, $30 or $45 tickets at various venues. Broadway San Diego, City Ballet of San Diego, Mockingbird Improv, New Village Arts, Cygnet Theatre, Moxie Theatre, Lamb’s Players Theatre, SDSU School of Theatre, Television and Film and San Diego Junior Theatre are among the participating organizations this year. San Diego Restaurant Week: As many as 100 restaurants in 30 San Diego County neighborhoods will participate in the bi-annual event, offering discounted prix-fixe lunch and dinner menus starting at $20. Menus available at sandiegorestaurantweek.com.

Circus Vargas: Children of all ages are invited to a big top tent for unique artistic and acrobatic performances. Expected performers include a contortionist, an aerialist, a ringmaster, a “globe of death,” a flying trapeze act and jugglers. The circus will continue in National City through Monday before moving to Mission Valley from March 15 to April 8, and to Temecula from April 12 to April 29. 7:30 p.m. tonight; 1, 4 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday; 12:30, 3:30 and 7 p.m. Sunday; 6:30 p.m. Sunday. Tuesday

Election Day: Most of the races on the March ballot are primaries in which voters will decide who will ultimately face off in November. However, Californians will also decide the outcome of a statewide ballot measure, residents of the city of San Diego will vote on a city measure and voters in several San Diego County communities will also determine the outcome of several special elections. “MJ the Musical”: Broadway San Diego presents the national touring production of this 2021 Michael Jackson jukebox musical, featuring a book by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage. It traces the king of pop’s life from boyhood to the peak of his career in 1992. 8 p.m. Tuesday; 7 p.m. Wednesday; 7:30 p.m. Thursday; 2 and 8 p.m. March 9; 1 and 6:30 p.m. March 10. Tournament of Cocktails: Guy Fieri will share hosting duties for the Tournament of Cocktails with San Diego chefs Brian Malarkey and Carlos Anthony. Five San Diego bartenders will compete to make the best cocktail prepared with Fieri’s Santo Tequila brand. 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Herb & Wood, 2210 Kettner Blvd., San Diego. Free.

“Equal Means Equal” screening: As part of its Women’s History Month celebrations, San Diego Miramar College will host a screening of this documentary about gender inequality. It features well-known activists and leaders, such as Eleanor Smeal and Gloria Steinem. The screening will be followed by Q&A and discussion. 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Wednesday

CONCACAF Women’s Gold Cup: The Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) has been hosting a women’s gold cup tournament throughout Southern California, and the semifinal games will take place in San Diego on Wednesday. Brazil vs. Mexico takes place at 4 p.m., followed by Canada vs. U.S.A at 7:15 p.m. The final will also be played here on Saturday. Tickets start at $35. Drawing comics for beginners: Emerging artists (ages 10 or older) are invited to a free class for learning to draw comics.
