Saint Helen Philoptochos held its “The Great Diamond Heist Whodunit” last month at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Cardiff. The event raised $31,500 for Foundation for Women Warriors of Vista and other local charities.
The evening centered on guests gathering clues to unravel the mystery of the “heist.” The banquet hall was transformed into a fine arts museum with the “diamond” on center display and the room filled with original paintings and photography created by parishioners.
Saint Helen Philoptochos, a local chapter of the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society, is the philanthropic ministry of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church in Cardiff. “Philoptochos” means friends of the poor and needy.
