As a travel writer who is constantly on the go, I must have a jacket that’s ready to go when I am this time of year. But not any style suits my carry-on-only lifestyle; I need something lightweight, packable, and looks good with everything in my bag. Four years ago, I found just that in my favorite puffer, which is still a staple of mine for fall and early winter travel.
This puffer jacket has been with me to vineyards in Tuscany, the highlands of Scotland, the streets of Dublin, all over Broadway in Nashville, bar hopping in New York City, and boating through the archipelago of Finland. And on every one of the adventures we’ve embarked on together, I’ve felt cozy, warm, and stylish; it’s spacious enough to fit a few layers under it but compact enough that I don’t feel like I’m too bulky. It’s also extremely travel-friendly with its packable design, which folds into itself and can be clipped to your luggage handle — I’ve even used it as a pillow on long-haul flights.
Bianstore Quilted Puffer Jacket
The only downside of my favorite travel jacket is that it comes with a $200 price tag. If that’s outside your budget, I’ve found the perfect, affordable lookalike for you at Amazon: the Bianstore Quilted Puffer Jacket. The nearly identical puffer rings in at $50, but it’s currently 20 percent off thanks to an on-site coupon. On its own, it’s a steal and it has a similar oversized fit and subtle details as my go-to one. Available in a dozen colors, it’s a solid addition to your autumn wardrobe if you’re aiming to get the same look for less.
I’m not the only one who is seeing double. Over at Amazon, one shopper agreed that they see the similarities between the Bianstore Quilted Puffer Jacket and the $200 version I swear by. Chiming in, a second reviewer shared that they “get compliments every time I wear this,” adding that “it has a nice, loose fit and it helps break the wind and keep me warm.”
Following their comment, another customer wrote that “the quality of the fabric is surprisingly impressive for the price point.” In fact, after reading all of these reviews, I bought the jacket for myself. I’m a sucker for a deal and the 20 percent off coupon got me — mine arrived yesterday.
Bianstore Quilted Puffer Jacket
At first, I was a bit skeptical of its puffiness since it arrived vacuum-sealed, but after a quick steam (which I highly recommend), it puffed up and revealed itself to be surprisingly similar to my go-to puffer. While the fabric might have the same buttery smoothness and the fit is just a tad smaller despite ordering it in the same size as the original, the Bianstore Quilted Puffer Jacket‘s pros outweigh its cons, making it a really great deal considering it costs less than a quarter of the price of my $200 version.
There’s nothing better than having an easy, comfortable, and lightweight jacket in your wardrobe as we approach the cooler seasons, and while I’m looking forward to my fourth winter with my $200 puffer, I can’t wait to take my new black Bianstore Quilted Puffer Jacket along on my trip to New York in two weeks.
